As the Rust Software Engineer, you will focus on our high-performance global edge network services and will also contribute to the control plane APIs that configure the edge services. You will be joining a team of bright, hard-working, and supportive engineers who really care about their craft. Examples of systems that the team currently is building:
Technologies we use: • Core edge services are written in Rust and Go and deployed globally to 250+ data centers. • Our REST API is also written in Rust and Go, runs on Kubernetes, and uses Postgres as a data store. • Our frontend is written in Typescript and React • For service monitoring we use Prometheus and Grafana • For service logging we use Elasticsearch and Kibana • For product analytics we use Click house and Big Query

Senior Network Engineer
£55k plus car allowance
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our expanding Networks Team responsible for the deployment and management of our clients network typically made up of 3 levels:The Core, Aggregation and Access. Reporting to the Head of Networks, you will deal with all elements within the network including design, build, manage, and maintain as well as assist with network strategy and technology development.
Responsibilities • Proactively monitor and predict demand over the entire network and propose network upgrades in a timely manner to meet demand. • Build, deploy, maintain, configure, support, troubleshoot Airband's IP Network comprising of a mix of fibre and wireless networks. • Technically evaluate solutions and technology to support network modernisation and growth. • Design and integrate aggregation and access networks to enable and support contract delivery. • Test, Evaluate and approve new designs and change requests. • Contribute to the network strategy. • Ongoing documentation creation and update including handover to operational teams. • Technical training sessions to other departments. • Provide 3rd line support to the service operations manager and team as well as to field engineers when required. • Interface with Service Operations department as and when needed. • Working closely with project and operational support teams to improve service delivery and to understand requirements into order to design, procure and implement as needed. Essential • CCNP certified or equivalent • In depth knowledge of routing protocols – OSPF, BGP, MPLS • Experience with network and technical implementation with emphasis on reliability and resilience. • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues. • Self-Motivated, outgoing team worker with strong work ethic • Translating business requirements into solutions • Network security experience (Fortigate firewalls, IPS, VPN) • Awareness of NAT technologies (CG-NAT, MAP-T) • Working within a ISP, Service Provider, Public Network Provider or Mobile Network Provider Desirable • Knowledge of optical network technologies including PON, CWDM, DWDM • Experience with a variety of Wired and Wireless Network Vendors • Data Centre experience • Network design including HLD/LLD • Knowledge of Network Monitoring Tools such as Solarwinds, PRTG • Network Scripting or Automation

Lead Developer - Hybrid
Based - Altrincham
WGG are working with modern Technology business and established consultancy who are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to join their growing engineering team.
Position
You will lead and be part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team working closely with experienced Architects and Technical Delivery Managers. Work front-line with our clients and be instrumental in the design and delivery of all aspects of our software solutions.
Champion and oversee the implementation of both CI/CD and engineering best practices in project deliverables. Help structure and provide technical assurance for the work of your team, advising on use of architecture and design patterns to assure software quality (and non-functional). Offer formal and informal advice and guidance in the development of strategies, frameworks and standards as required.
Requirements
• 5+ years’ commercial development experience using industry-leading frameworks and languages (e.g. Django/Python, Java, Node, .Net). • Experience and willingness to be a ‘hands-on’ full-stack developer, leading technical teams by example and acting as a role model for software engineering best practice.
